What is the Summer Sundae Weekender then, a random band generator?
Fancy seeing a whole myriad of bands and comedy acts a go-go, with the added convenience of not going to a sludge-ridden hell pit in the country? Well this ones for you. This festival is held in the middle of Leicester town centre, so you will never be too far from a Greggs.

So who is this festival for then? Townie wussies?
Well, it considers itself a “laid back family-friendly” festival, but that doesn't mean that that it's the South Derbyshire Steam Festival. DJ Steve Lamacq called it the “Grandson of Glastonbury”.
Sounds good, but I'm not too sure about Mcfly (I know that song was for charity but my God...)
Stop there muso-snob! You don't have to see them, there is loads of the “good stuff” to see on the über-cool Drowned in Sound and Last FM stages. Plus you can get to embrace you inner Sir Arthur Conan Doyle with this year's Victoriana theme. Bang on!
5 Summer Sundaes
Givers
Though they do sound a little bit like like Vampire Weekend mixed with erm ...Vampire Weekend, only the coldest of hearts and Morrisey fans will fail to enjoy these sweet Louisiana poplettes.
Toots and the Maytals
Reggae Royalty from the Big Man. 'Nuff said.
The Jim Jones Revue
Thundering Sonics-style garage rock from this back street fist-fight of a band. Though do not confuse garage rock with UK garage, as you will most definitely be disappointed.
John Cooper Clarke
Fancy something different? Check out the self-styled “Bard of Salford”. Even though he does look like a crow made out of velour this extraordinary poet used to open for acts like Joy Division and the Sex Pistols. Cool points.
Everything Everything
Multi-award winning band who manage to make combine influences from Beyoncé and Let's Dance era David Bowie without sounding like Mika. No mean feat!
